How to Renew a Business Name in Ghana (2026): Fees and Steps
Business names in Ghana are renewed every year. Here is who needs to renew, the ORC fees, what to prepare and how to renew online.
A registered business name in Ghana has to be renewed every year with the Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC). Renewal keeps the registration current, which banks, mobile money providers, landlords and tender boards check before they work with you.
Who needs to renew
- Sole proprietorships registered with Form A.
- Incorporated private partnerships.
- Subsidiary business names registered by an existing company.
- Companies (LTD and LBG) do not renew a business name. They file an annual return instead.
Renewal fees
Missed years can be renewed together: the cost is the yearly fee multiplied by the number of years you renew.
| Registration | ORC renewal fee per year |
|---|---|
| Sole proprietorship | GHS 70 |
| Incorporated private partnership | GHS 100 |
What to prepare
- Your business registration number or a copy of the business name certificate.
- The owner's or partners' Ghana Card details.
- The number of years you are renewing.
